
Mill down low, fly-cut flush +0.001 or so, then stone flat with table. Probably best to have a light slip fit and "glue" in with JB or thin LocTite permanent. Cut sections of rods and insert in holes. Get drills and reamers in those sizes, then open up to the next larger size to fit your rods, bridging/straddling as required. Basically, order up some durabar in a few sizes that cover the basic range of holes. I've been advised to use JB and others as mentioned, but KPotter (I think it was?) suggested the one I like best, but have yet to implement. Probably 30 holes in it ranging from very small up to maybe 3/8 on a few. My otherwise very nice mill has a table that looks like a woodpecker got ahold of it. Some folks are just simply to stupid to let near a machine tool, and yet they invariably get their mits on them and do stuff like this. I've got a similar problem, but sadly, it's on my Bridgeport table.
